Designed to combine the expressive character of the Shakuhachi with the versatility of a D Irish flute, it allows players to explore a unique blend of Japanese and Celtic musical traditions while maintaining compatibility with Western scales and tuning.
This headjoint offers a rich, breathy tone and a wide range of expressive possibilities. Due to its traditional blowing technique, it is considerably more challenging to play than a standard Irish flute headjoint and requires well-developed embouchure control, breath management, and playing experience.
